What is Lesson Study?

In Lesson Study, teachers meet in collaborative groups to develop, teach, analyze, and refine exemplary lessons.  Each lesson is videotaped while being taught by one member of the writing group in her classroom.  All groups then review the videotape of the lesson, lesson plans, accompanying labs or worksheets, and student assessments.  Based on the group analysis and suggestions, the lesson is refined, and then posted on the SUSME website for use by all teachers.
